Titanium Rohloff Belt Drive FatBike

Posted on August 17th, 2012

Twenty2 Cycles started the belt drive Rohloff project as a custom build for Sam, a customer looking for the ultimate expedition bike. For anyone not familiar with Rohloff..the hub contains an internal gearing mechanism that is protected from the elements and eliminates derailleurs and the traditional cassette. When building a frame to use a Rohloff hub and Gates Belt Drive, Rohloff requires the finished frame to be tested for stiffness and lack of compression. Gates had to build a couple special parts for the test since this was the only fatbike to ever be tested.

After a couple trys and design modifications, we built one of the best testing frames they had ever seen.

We have fallen in love with this new desin and we now will be offering the Twenty2 Cycles Belt Drive Rohloff frames and full build options to everyone in 29ers, fatbikes, and adventure cross.  This design will eventually will be available in all frame materials: titanium, aluminum and steel.  Please contact us if you are interested in an amazing Rohloff Belt drive frame.
